SUMMER

Welcome to **SUMMER**!

I woke up this morning and thought what a beautiful day. Birds were singing, the sun was shining and the sky was a crystal blue. I thought "it is on its way toward becoming **SUMMER**, just lovely! My husband likes Winter; my daughter likes the beginning of Spring, chilly cold mornings and evenings but a bright sunny day and a cool breeze. But I love, of course, I already told you **SUMMER** (hear the angels sing), the beautiful time between Spring and Fall. Time for vacations, picnics, the beach, outdoor fun of all kinds and, of course, "Lighter-Later"...you know, daylight savings time, Spring ahead, stay light outside till late in the evening. I know it started in March, but it last all through the **SUMMER** (cue music). There is also time for some good old fashioned learning, summer science camps, tutoring with no pressure, learning to swim, making a "Pirate Movie" (Oh, Wow), animation, guitar, karate, basketball, learning to ride horses (Giddy up pardner). It all seems so much more fun in the Aaaaahhhhhh....Oh, well you know I’m going to say it, **SUMMER** (bells tinkling). And adults can join the fun by taking classes, too, because nobody wants to miss out on learning something new and amazing in the, here it comes again…… **SUMMER** (hands waving in the air).

Could you kinda guess that I like the, um, well, not gonna do it to you again….. this time of the year!!!!!

The New Year! Happy, Happy!

Hello All,

Happy New Year!!! I know a lot of people just say those
words atthe beginning of a new year, but I really mean
them. 2011 was not the best of years for some people
and was a trying time for me too! But contrary to the
thoughts of some, I believe that 2012 is going to be
a great year and a start of a delightful and prosperous
future for the masses.(And, no they do not pay me
extra to say that). I really believe that the world is what
we make it, sending out positivity creates a positive
outcome. Let's all run the negative airs right out of
town and design a truly magnificent future. I
believe many of us are tired of the way things were
and are going to pick up some pieces, throw away
others, rearrange and interweave new pieces into
the stages of our lives and create a whole new
puzzle to enjoy. I’m going to go back to school, as one
of my resolutions, and discover the person I should
have found in my youth, but I was having too much
fun then to think about who I wanted to be when I
grew up. Now is the time to discover my joys and
passions, and so should you. I have notice a decidedly
wonderful upsurge of people signing up for classes
this Winter/Spring and it is a joy to the heart
to realize that I am not the only one feeling the new
vibe this year. So again, to all of you I say, have a
blissfully joyous, brilliantly abounding, and securely
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Live life, Laugh hard and Love always!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING OR GIVING THANKS DAY TO EVERYONE!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!

This holiday for me is about just that, "giving thanks" for everyone and everything in my life! This is a day to have a family gathering and enjoying every minute of it or if it's only you, doing something that lightens your heart. It is also, about the feast for me too, because I really love turkey and all the fixings. Mostly though, the cooking part of it brings back the memories of growing up; the aromas associated with the celebration of a family gathered together.
Everyone in our house would be assigned a task to do; mine would be setting the table. My Dad's duty would be the shrimp, which he would sneak eating as he peeled it and shake his head "no" then smile and shrug his shoulders every time you asked him if he was eating any. We'd all draw collectively around the table that was seemingly and undoubtedly too small for all of us and share a meal. My Dad would make some jokes and we would all laugh.
I remember one time the family (because we live in California and can go outside in November when it sometimes has 80 degree weather, Yeah!) played football on the street. It would be my brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, myself and my Dad. My Dad would put on his street type dress shoes and slip all over on the gravel road. He never owned a pair of tennis shoes until he was about 75 and only then because his doctor told him he needed them for a test. My Dad didn't think wearing tennis shoes was appropriate footwear for a man. Family Values, Family Traditions and Family Love and everything that comes with it is what we here at Community Education wish for you this Thanksgiving or “Giving Thanks” Day. Have a great Holiday! And don't forget to eat lots of good things, especially pie!!!

Hello All

The holidays and family get togethers are coming up soon.  Festive activities will soon be in full swing.  Don't forget to keep your mind active with your own wisdom, fortitude and flair.  Remember to not forget about yourself in the midst of all the hectic and sometimes overwheming season of giving and family times.
Here's my tip for getting through the next few months.  Stop, take a few calming breaths (don't hyperventilate though!) and then look around you.  You might be in the middle of the city but you can always find some beauty there, too.  Flowers lining a roadway, a blue sky, clouds, children, people walking and enjoying the day, an exceptionally beautiful building or architecturally enchanced house, the shapes of trees, the sun or even the rain.  Think of three things that are special in your life (believe me you will find more than three) and then smile!

Till next time ;)

A Day in the life of Community Education

Well hello all,

This is our first blog...hooray for us. Community Education has offered classes to the community here in Riverside County and the surrounding areas for quite a number of years. I have personally worked here 10 years and have seen a lot of people take classes and go on to bigger and better things in life. I have watched children enjoy our swim, dance and art classes. We have some great science camps (day camps) for children in the summer, too. Adults can learn to salsa and merengue, become a supervisor, do woodworking, train your dog, become a pharmacy tech, learn about the bloggin, do karate, become a Veterinary Assistant, Alcohol and Drug Counselor, create a Will, learn Italian, publish a book, have a auto wholesale business, learn makeup, fitness training, Project Management, Excel and Powerpoint.......whew and much, much more. Wow, now I'm tired! Anyway, come see our site and check out the classes, we all need a little me time, right!
