Well it is Spring, again. Yeah, we made it through the Winter and all that Holiday
rigamarole. Not the family time, but the shopping and stress that comes around the
good times at Christmas. Time to start firing up the barbeque and putting up the
pool (well not quite yet), riding our bikes and going for picnics. Because before you
know it Summer will be knocking at our doors. We are going to spruce up the house,
dust off the playthings, and get the garden and grass ready for the best times of
the year, Spring.
Spring is the best time to start anew. Learning can get you to start anew too.
We no longer have to worry about our extravagant holiday spending. We will be just
a little self-indulgent on chocolate when the Easter bunny comes. But we should
be extra greedy when it comes to learning new and useful knowledge by taking those
classes we always wanted to take. We should start afresh with a new outlook on the
future and us in it.
Have you ever woke up in the morning and thought you should be doing something else with
your life. Well, now is the time. Become that Alcohol and Drug Counselor, or Pharmacy
Tech, Hemodialysis Tech, or Cardiographic Tech. Learn CPR, Become a Notary, learn
how to improve your Business or become a Social Media Manager. Make your next
gathering the talk of the town by learning to become a special Event planner and
do your own flowers by learning to Floral Design, maybe start your own business
from these classes. Think of Spring as the time of renewal, rebirth, and regrowth.
Regenerate your life with classes from RCCD Community Education!

What are you thankful for?
Wow. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for? Well I am thankful for the people who know me and love me anyway, not because they have to or even because they are related to me, but because they are indeed a family of the heart. I am thankful for our health and happiness. I’m thankful for my daughter’s truthfulness and sustaining symmetry. I am thankful for my son-in-laws tenacity and strength. I am thankful for my husband being handy and his many constituent qualities. I am thankful for my grandchildren for their unconditional love and for giving me the greatest gift of feeling and seeing, with their eyes, that life is wholesome and delightful. And I am thankful that I am here and that I can express my sentiments to everyone. An last I am thankful for………………………….............................................................................................................…….the people that decided that Thanksgiving was a holiday to have some time off and eat Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pie, cookies, cranberries, shrimp, corn, green beans, ham, and all the other fixings. Yum! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Fall Racing
Well, here we are again, the fall season. Even though
everyone thinks of January as the beginning of the year,
I guess I have always thought of September as the real
beginning. Probably because all those days growing
up, after the “winning” fun days of summer we’d have
to begin at the starting line again, for another school year.
Learning is what keeps you growing; learning is what
keeps you striving, even as an adult, to be everything
you can be and learning as you get older is what keeps
you younger and in touch with the young. In my mind’s
eye when I was a child and even to this day, the months
revolved around on an oval racetrack. The fall was the
beginning of the track, the start of climbing the hills of
another year and getting your rhythm rolling again on
the road of life. Then there were the pit stops you took,
one at Thanksgiving, yum, and a bigger pit stop at
Christmas, getting your engine reworked a little with
all the family values and food, wah-hoo.
The road would seem to get treacherous and long again
after that, never seeming to end with all its curves and
unknown obstacles as you race toward the end of
another year of school and life. A little pit stop at
Easter, and then summer would be here with its
natural slow half-donut curve and you would be
coasting towards the finish line for another year.
That was how I looked at life when I was a kid
and I guess I still look at it like that today. Sometimes
there are bigger hills to face, sometimes longer pit
stops to enjoy and sometimes obstacles that you
always discover are not too hard to face. A race
towards living, all of us winning in our own way.
And an education and learning, it is always the
best side car to have on the road of life.
Ever growing, ever striving, ever learning and
forever young.
Till next time (:~)

SUMMER
Welcome to **SUMMER**!
Could you kinda guess that I like the, um, well, not gonna do it to you again….. this time of the year!!!!!
I woke up this morning and thought what a beautiful day. Birds were singing, the sun was shining and the sky was a crystal blue. I thought "it is on its way toward becoming **SUMMER**, just lovely! My husband likes Winter; my daughter likes the beginning of Spring, chilly cold mornings and evenings but a bright sunny day and a cool breeze. But I love, of course, I already told you **SUMMER** (hear the angels sing), the beautiful time between Spring and Fall. Time for vacations, picnics, the beach, outdoor fun of all kinds and, of course, "Lighter-Later"...you know, daylight savings time, Spring ahead, stay light outside till late in the evening. I know it started in March, but it last all through the **SUMMER** (cue music). There is also time for some good old fashioned learning, summer science camps, tutoring with no pressure, learning to swim, making a "Pirate Movie" (Oh, Wow), animation, guitar, karate, basketball, learning to ride horses (Giddy up pardner). It all seems so much more fun in the Aaaaahhhhhh....Oh, well you know I’m going to say it, **SUMMER** (bells tinkling). And adults can join the fun by taking classes, too, because nobody wants to miss out on learning something new and amazing in the, here it comes again…… **SUMMER** (hands waving in the air).
Could you kinda guess that I like the, um, well, not gonna do it to you again….. this time of the year!!!!!
OPPS…

The New Year! Happy, Happy!
Hello All,
Happy New Year!!! I know a lot of people just say those
words atthe beginning of a new year, but I really mean
them. 2011 was not the best of years for some people
and was a trying time for me too! But contrary to the
thoughts of some, I believe that 2012 is going to be
a great year and a start of a delightful and prosperous
future for the masses.(And, no they do not pay me
extra to say that). I really believe that the world is what
we make it, sending out positivity creates a positive
outcome. Let's all run the negative airs right out of
town and design a truly magnificent future. I
believe many of us are tired of the way things were
and are going to pick up some pieces, throw away
others, rearrange and interweave new pieces into
the stages of our lives and create a whole new
puzzle to enjoy. I’m going to go back to school, as one
of my resolutions, and discover the person I should
have found in my youth, but I was having too much
fun then to think about who I wanted to be when I
grew up. Now is the time to discover my joys and
passions, and so should you. I have notice a decidedly
wonderful upsurge of people signing up for classes
this Winter/Spring and it is a joy to the heart
to realize that I am not the only one feeling the new
vibe this year. So again, to all of you I say, have a
blissfully joyous, brilliantly abounding, and securely
